Drug Bust: Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Hydromorphone, Marihuana, Cash and Weapons

(Ottawa and Renfrew County, Ontario) – On December 3&4, 2014 , members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau – Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) – Project Paradigm, Provincial Operation Intelligence Bureau (POIB), the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Ottawa Police Service executed Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrants on residences in the City of Ottawa and Laurentian Valley TWP.

As a result, officers seized Cocaine, Methamphetamine pills, Hydromorphone pills, Marihuana, Cash and weapons.

Two (2) men are charged:

Benjamin SCHAUER, 33 of Pembroke (ON) is charged with Trafficking in a schedule I substance – Cocaine contrary to section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, Possession for the purpose of trafficking in a schedule I substance – Cocaine contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He is released on a Promise to appear with Officer-in-Charge Undertaking.

Sandy WAMMES, 47 of Osgoode (ON) is charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 354 (1) (a) of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trafficking in a schedule I substance – Cocaine contrary to section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and Possession of marihuana contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He was held for a bail to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Ottawa.

The investigation is ongoing.
