(Ottawa, ON) -The Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a driver of a commercial motor vehicle after an incident that occurred on Highway 417 eastbound between Eagleson Road and Moodie Drive.
On December 5, 2014, at approximately 7:42 am, an OPP officer stopped a commercial motor vehicle when it was observed travelling in the High Occupancy Vehicle lane.
The investigation revealed that the driver had been drinking.
The male driver, 34 year old Paul LEWIS of Ottawa, was charged with:
Impaired Driving and
Operating a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 mgs of Alcohol
He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Ottawa on January 07, 2015.
The OPP will continue to conduct RIDE programs at all times during the day as part of the 2014-15 Festive RIDE season.
