22 Year Old From Brockton Arrested For Drunk Driving

(PAISLEY, ON) – On December 11, 2022, at 2:30 a.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) discovered a single vehicle collision along Queen Street in Paisley. The officer found that the driver had been drinking alcohol.

Tyler WOLTERS, 22-years-old, from the Municipality of Brockton was charged with Operate over 80 milligrams. The accused will be appearing before the Ontario Court of Justice to answer to the charge.

This charge includes an immediate 90-day driver’s license suspension and an immediate 7-day vehicle impoundment. 

There were minor injuries reported at the scene.

20 Year Old From Listowel Arrested

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – Another driver charged with an impaired related offence in the Municipality of North Perth.

On July 10, 2022, just before 2:00 a.m., a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was on general patrol when a vehicle stop was conducted on Mitchell Road South in North Perth.

During the investigation, it became apparent the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage. An Approved Screening Device was used, and they were arrested, and transported to a local operations center for further testing.

Tyson HAMILTON, 20, of Listowel, has been charged with:

–      Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)

–      Operation while Impaired – alcohol and drugs

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s License Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charges.

If you suspect someone is driving while their ability to operate a motor vehicle is impaired, either by drug or alcohol, call police at 911 to report it.

Sandra ALBRECHT – Theft

(NORTH PERTH, ON) – Another person has been charged for theft after they were caught shoplifting at a local business.

The Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to the business on Mitchell Road South, Listowel on February 18, 2022, just before 2:00 p.m., after a person was witnessed shoplifting.

Sandra ALBRECHT, 56, of Perth East, has been charged with:

–       Theft Under $5000 – Shoplifting

The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford at a later date to answer to the charge.

Fatal Pedestrian Collision

(MEAFORD, ON) – On December 17, 2021 just before 6 p.m., the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Meaford Fire Department and Grey County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a report of a collision between an SUV and a pedestrian on Sykes Street North in the Municipality of Meaford.

The pedestrian was transported to a local area hospital where they were pronounced deceased. Their identity is being withheld pending a next-of kin-notification.

The Grey Bruce OPP are conducting the investigation with the assistance of the OPP West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team (TIME).

Sykes Street North will remain closed between Parker Street and Collingwood Street, while emergency crews process the scene.

Hero Chases Criminal & Gets Vehicle Back – LIPSETT Arrested Again

(HOWICK, ON) – A Hamilton resident is facing a total of thirteen criminal charges stemming from a stolen vehicle occurrence in Wroxeter. 

Just after 9:00 p.m. on November 23, 2021 Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to attend Mill Street in Wroxeter for a theft of a pickup truck in progress. On the way to the call officers learned the owner of the pickup truck gave chase and had followed the suspect a short distance before the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. 

A Huron OPP officer arrived on scene and began patrolling for the suspect. Shortly after, the suspect was observed and was placed under arrest and taken into custody. A search incident to arrest revealed the accused was in possession of break-in tools, a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, a stolen licence plate and a stolen driver’s licence. Further checks on the accused revealed he was prohibited from driving, as well he was found to be failing to comply with conditions of a court release order.  

Michael LIPSETT, 30 years of age, from Hamilton has been charged with:

  • Theft of Motor Vehicle
  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine
  • Possession of Break-in Tools
  • Fail to Comply with Release Conditions – 4 counts
  • Drive a Motor Vehicle While Prohibited – 4 counts
  • Possession of Stolen Property – 2 counts

The accused remains in custody with a court appearance scheduled for December 22, 2021 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Traffic Stop Leads To Criminal Charges

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – A resident of Middlesex Centre Township is facing several Highway Traffic Act offences along with two criminal charges following a recent traffic stop conducted by Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). 

On December 2, 2021 at approximately 11:42 a.m. a Huron County OPP officer observed a pickup truck and trailer travelling on Airport Line near Crediton Road. Upon stopping the vehicle officers noted the load was insecure, in addition, other safety issues were identified with the vehicle. 

Officers began inspecting the vehicle however the driver obstructed the officers from completing the inspection. After failing to comply with directions the driver was placed under arrest for obstruction. During the arrest the driver resisted the officers and attempted to flee. Officers were able to gain control of the driver and he was ultimately taken into custody. 

Murray SHOEBOTTOM, 53 years of age, from Middlesex Centre Township has been charged with Obstruct Peace Officer, Resist Peace Officer along with several Highway Traffic Act Offences. 

The accused has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for January 17, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

21 Year Old Arrested In Clinton

(CENTRAL HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a young driver from Central Huron with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) following a traffic stop this past weekend. 

On Friday, November 19, 2021 at approximately 4:12 p.m. a Huron OPP officer was patrolling into Clinton on Bayfield Road when he encountered a car swerving within the lane. Upon stopping the vehicle and speaking with the driver the investigating officer had reason to believe the driver had consumed some alcohol. A roadside screening test was conducted and the driver registered a fail. 

The accused was placed under arrest and was transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests. Two samples of breath were provided to the Intoxilizer Technician and both samples were found to be above the legal limit. 

Brandon PELLOW, 21 years of age from Central Huron has been charged with Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) 80 Plus and Young Driver – BAC Above Zero. The accused has since been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for January 10, 2022 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Numerous Weapons Charges – Shawn Patrick NELSON

(TOWNSHIP OF CENTRE WELLINGTON, ON) – On August 2, 2021 at approximately 12:20 p.m. the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Wellington County Detachment responded to a disturbance in the parking lot of a business located on Tower St. South in Fergus.

Upon arrival officers observed an individual causing a disturbance and he was taken into custody. 

Shawn Patrick NELSON, 41-years-old of Fergus has been charged with Cause Disturbance in a Public Place, Carry Concealed Weapon, Utter Threats X2, and Carry Concealed Weapon While Unauthorized X5.

The accused was held for a Bail Hearing.

Stolen Property Recovered – SWEENEY, SWEENEY, SWEENEY

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – On May 21, 2021 members of Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU) executed a search warrant at a residence on Nimmo Street in the County of Brant.

Items previously reported stolen from Brant County and the City of Brantford were recovered including a motorcycle and an ATV. All owners have been updated regarding their property.

Sam SWEENEY, 46 years-of-age from Brant County is charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5000,
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Under $5000,
  • Fail to Comply with Probation Order and
  • Altering/Destroying/Removing a vehicle identification number (2 counts).

Jade Sierra SWEENEY, 25 years-of-age from Brant County is charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5000,
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Under $5000 and
  • Altering/Destroying/Removing a vehicle identification number (2 counts).

Dorothy SWEENEY, 73 years-of-age from Brant County is charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Over $5000,
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime – Under $5000 and
  • Altering/Destroying/Removing a vehicle identification number (2 counts).

All accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice located in Brantford at a later date.

Robert GLAVINIC – Trespass, Obstruct, etc.

(GRAND BEND, ON) – On June 6, 2021 at 7:45 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting foot patrol on Grand Bend Beach when they observed an individual with open liquor.

The individual, who provided officers with a fake name, decided to make a run for it. After a brief foot chase, the individual was taken into custody.  

Robert GLAVINIC, 26-years-old of Windsor has been charged with Obstruct Peace Officer (Criminal Code) as well as two charges under the Liquor Licence Act and two charges under the Trespass to Property Act.

The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
