Chatham-Kent Police Daily Update 10May2024

Chatham-Kent, Ontario: The Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to 161 calls for service in the last 24 hours. Eight people were arrested and five were on outstanding warrants.

Man Arrested for Theft of Motor Vehicle CK24020766

On May 8, 2024, a motorcycle was reported stolen from River Line in Harwich Township.

On May 9, 2024, at 9:22 a.m., the bike was recovered from a McNaughton Avenue address in Chatham and the man arrested.

The 41-year-old Chatham-Kent man was transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently facing the following charges: theft over $5000, theft of motor vehicle and possession of stolen property.

Woman Arrested for Impaired Driving CK24020789

At 11:43 a.m., police responded to a traffic complaint on Winter Line Road in Dover Township.

Officers attended the area, located the vehicle, and conducted a traffic stop. The officer believed the woman driving to be under the influence of alcohol and arrested her. She was transported to police headquarters for tests.

The 60-year-old Dover Township woman was released with conditions and a future court date of May 27, 2024. She is currently charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

Man Arrested for Criminal Harassment CK24020830

At 4:03 p.m., police began a harassment investigation in Chatham.

Through investigation, officers learned the man had been repeatedly following his ex-partner and showing up at their workplace and home.

The 50-year-old Chatham man was located and arrested. He was transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of June 10, 2024. He is currently charged with criminal harassment.

Man Arrested for Uttering Threats CK24020872

At 10:16 p.m., police responded to Moonstone Crescent in Chatham for an intimate partner violence investigation.

Upon arrival, officer learned the man threatened to harm the woman and damaged her cell phone during a verbal argument.

The 32-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to police headquarters, where he was held pending a bail hearing. He is currently charged with uttering threats and mischief.

Man Arrested for Break and Enter CK24020881

At 11:38 p.m., police located the man on Michael Avenue in Tilbury.

The man was wanted on an outstanding warrant for a May 6, 2024, break and enter at Tilbury Memorial Park.

The 37-year-old Chatham-Kent man was transported to police headquarters, where he was released with conditions and a future court date of June 10, 2024. He is currently charged with break and enter, theft and possession of stolen property.

Woman arrested for Bail Violations CK24020889

On May 10, 2024, at 12:57 a.m., police located the woman on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.

The officer confirmed the woman was wanted on an outstanding warrant for a 2023 bail violation investigation.

The 33-year-old Walpole Island woman was transported to police headquarters, where she was held pending a bail hearing. She is currently facing the following charges: failing to attend court, three counts of failing to comply with a release order, five counts of failing to comply with an undertaking.
