(WAWA, ON) – On Thursday September 29, 2016 at approximately 7:30 am officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Wawa Detachment were on general patrols Highway 17, Alanan Township when they stopped a motor vehicle for a Highway Traffic Act infraction. Further investigation revealed that the motor vehicle in question had been reported stolen from the Winnipeg Manitoba area.
As a result Robert NORTON (41) of Abbotsford British Columbia was arrested and charged with the following offences;
Adult- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 in Canada contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada,
Adult Breach of Recognizance contrary to section 811 of the C.C.C.
The accused was released from custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Wawa Ontario on November 7, 2016.
