Numerous Collisions Involving Drinking Drivers over the Weekend

(Selwyn Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to assist after a vehicle collided with a house on East Communication Road Friday evening shortly after 7:00pm.

A vehicle travelling at high speed along Seventh Line of Selwyn Township failed to negotiate the ninety degree corner at East Communication Road and collided with a house. The driver was transported to an area hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. No one else was injured. Chris KYLE (age 42) of Peterborough, ON was charged with:

Impaired Driving.

Driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood

Dangerous Driving.

The accused is scheduled to appear in Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough, Ontario on November 24, 2016.

(Otonabee-South Monaghan Township) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to investigate a collision on Highway 7 near Heritage Line Friday evening shortly after 8:30pm.

There were no injuries reported in the two vehicle crash, however one of the drivers was found to have been drinking. William Chad CRANLEY (age 40) of Otonabee-South Monaghan Township was arrested and charged with:

Impaired driving

Driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough, Ontario on December 22, 2016.

(City of Peterborough) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were following an erratic driver on Lansdowne Street East Saturday morning shortly after 1:00am.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver investigated by police.

Lauren MCCOLL (age 37) of Douro-Dummer Township was arrested and charged with:

Impaired Driving

Driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough, Ontario on December 08, 2016.

(Douro-Dummer Township) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to assist after a pickup truck rolled into a ditch on Peterborough County Road 8 Saturday morning shortly before 6:00am.

The driver was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Investigators determined that the driver had been drinking.

Troy William BURTON (age 26) was arrested and charged with:

Impaired driving

Driving with more than 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood

The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough, Ontario on December 01, 2016.

(Municipality of Trent Lakes) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and emergency crews were called to assist after a driver was ejected from her vehicle during a single vehicle collision on Peterborough County Road 36 shortly before 1:00am this morning.

The 26 year old female driver of the vehicle was transported to a Toronto area hospital with serious injuries. Police continue to investigate the cause of the collision and believe that alcohol was a factor.
