Cameron MCPHERSON – Drunk Driving

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – On November 17, 2016, at approximately 10:54 a.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a motor vehicle stop of a green Nissan sport utility vehicle (SUV) traveling at a high rate of speed eastbound on Highway 402, near Wonderland Road, in the City of London, Ontario.

Officers determined that the 20-year-old male driver had been drinking alcohol. He was placed under arrest, and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath tests.

As a result of the police investigation, Cameron MCPHERSON, from Barrie, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol), and driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) with: driving while under suspension; speeding 1-49 km/h over posted speed limit; fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle; novice driver – B.A.C. (blood alcohol content) above zero; and young driver – B.A.C. above zero. He was further charged under the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA) with fail to surrender insurance card.

The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to appear in a London court on December 14, 2016.
