Bancroft OPP Weekly Press Release

(BANCROFT, ON) – During the week of the 10th of October 2016 through to the 16th of October 2016, officers with the Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to seventy three (73) calls for service.

These investigations included an alarm calls, an animal complaint, one (1) assault, bail violation, breach of probation, four (4) domestic disputes, three (3) drug offences, fire, two (2) frauds, two (2) mental health calls, a mischief complaint, three (3) neighbour disputes, five (5) police assistance calls, one (1) sudden death investigation, three (3) thefts, nine (9) traffic complaints, a traffic hazard, trespass to property, trouble with youth, weapons call and other police related calls for service.

Four (4) criminal code charges were laid as a result of those investigations.

Officers also responded to seven (7) motor vehicle collisions and three (3) charges were laid due to those investigations. There were no collisions involving animals.

Officers conducted eight (8) R.I.D.E. programs in the area, resulting in one hundred and eighty one (181) vehicles assessed for drivers who had been consuming alcohol.

During that same period, officers laid thirty (30) Provincial Offence Notices, including charges for speeding, failing to properly wear seatbelt, insurance related charges, driving while suspended, careless driving, attempt to pass-roadway not clear, and other Highway Traffic Act offences.
