(BANCROFT, ON) – On October 6, 2016 at 10:15 p.m. members of Bancroft Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a break, enter and robbery with violence at an apartment on Snow Road in the Town of Bancroft.
Three male suspects forced entry into the apartment, assaulted the male resident with a weapon and proceeded to steal property before fleeing. Shortly thereafter, responding officers stopped a vehicle on Highway # 28 in Faraday Township, where two of the involved men were arrested. The third suspect fled the vehicle on foot. Members of the O.P.P Canine Unit and Emergency Response Team were dispatched to assist in the search. The victim sustained minor injuries.
On October 18th, 2016 the third male involved in this incident was located and arrested in Peterborough.
Aaron ROMEIRO, 31 years from Beaverton, Ontario, Cody BARNETT, 24 years from Norwood, Ontario and Joseph THOMAS 33 years from Peterborough, Ontario have been charged with:

Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition
Possession Property Obtained by Crime

Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing There was Prohibited or Restricted Weapon
Mr THOMAS was held for a bail hearing at Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on October 19th, 2016.
