7 Year Old Falls Off Snowmobile And Becomes Entangled In Machine

(LAURENTIAN VALLEY, ON) – At approximately 7pm on January 29, 2017 members of the Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Renfrew County Paramedics and the Laurentian Valley Fire Department responded to an emergency call on the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) snowmobile trail between Henan Road and Highway 17 in Laurentian Valley Township. Emergency responders were called to the scene after a 7 year old female passenger fell off of a moving snowmobile that was being driven by her mother. The child’s arm became caught in the moving track resulting in her arm becoming wedged between the track and the body of the snow machine.

The child was freed from the snow machine by the Laurentian Valley Fire Department and transported to the hospital by the paramedics with minor injuries. The incident did not result in any charges by police.
