Weekend Update – Orillia OPP

(ORILLIA, ON) – Over the weekend, the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received 122 calls for service. Police responded to calls received from Severn Township, Ramara Township, and the City of Orillia. The time frame is from Friday night at 6:00 p.m. until Monday morning at 6:00 a.m.

There were various calls for service consisting of noise complaints, alarms, 911 hang ups, domestic/family disputes, Liquor Licence Act complaints, mischief complaints, motor vehicle collisions and impaired drivers.

On January 30, 2016 at approximately 5:15 p.m., the Orillia OPP stopped a vehicle at West Street and Commerce Drive in the City of Orillia for having an expired validation sticker. The driver was arrested after he failed a roadside breath test.

Christopher POOLE, 45 years old of Severn Township, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 mgs Blood/Alcohol. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia court on February 23, 2016.

On January 31, 2016 at approximately 12:45 a.m., the Orillia OPP stopped a vehicle at Barrie Road and Dallas Street in the City of Orillia for having no lights on. The driver was arrested after he failed a roadside breath test.

Daniel THIBODEAU, 61 years old of Orillia, has been charged with Over 80 mgs Blood/Alcohol and Possession of Cannabis Marihuana. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia court on March 15, 2016.
