Weekend Update For Orillia OPP

(ORILLIA, ON) – Over the weekend, the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received 131 calls for service. Police responded to calls received from Severn Township, Ramara Township, and the City of Orillia. The time frame is from Friday night at 6:00 p.m. until Monday morning at 6:00 a.m.

There were various calls for service consisting of noise complaints, alarms, 911 hang-ups, domestic/family disputes, Liquor Licence Act complaints, mischief complaints, motor vehicle collisions, thefts, assaults and impaired drivers.

On October 14, 2016 at approximately 11:18 p.m., officers from the Orillia OPP were conducting speed enforcement on Highway 11 in Severn Township. Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding and after further investigation the driver of the vehicle was arrested.

Eric RAMSAY, 34 years old of Orillia, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 milligrams Blood/Alcohol. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia Criminal Court on November 8, 2016.

On October 16, 2016 at approximately 12:51 a.m., officers from the Orillia OPP stopped a vehicle for speeding on Division Road in Severn Township. After a short investigation the male driver of the vehicle was arrested.

Robert GARRATT, 27 years old of Springwater Township, has been charged with Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Over 80 milligrams Blood/Alcohol. He was released on a Promise to Appear in Orillia Criminal Court on November 1, 2016.
