(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – On Friday October 14, 2016 at approximately 9pm an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop for a driving violation on Portage Road near Kirkfield.
Following an investigation, the driver, Roy WINDHAGER, 57 years of age of Scarborough, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
Driving with More than 80 mg of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood contrary to section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada
Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
Fail to Use Lower Beam – Oncoming Traffic contrary to section 168)(a) HTA
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on November 3, 2016.
