Ross SIMPSON – Hit And Run, Drunk Driving, etc

(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment has charged a 51 year old male with drinking and driving offences after investigating a two vehicle collision at an Argyle Street, Caledonia, Haldimand County, ON address.

On Friday January 30th, 2016 at approximately 9:47 pm Police were contacted to attend a two vehicle collision at Argyle St near Highway (Hwy) 6.

Investigation revealed that a red 2003 Saturn Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) being operated by a 51 year old male was travelling along Argyle Street when it struck a vehicle being operated by a female party. The driver of the Saturn then fled the scene. A short time later Police located the Saturn and the male driver. While he was speaking with the officer signs of impairment were detected which led to his arrest. Neither driver was injured as a result of the collision.

As a result of the investigation the driver of the SUV identified as 51 year old Ross SIMPSON of Peel Region, ON has been charged with Impaired driving, driving over the legal limit of alcohol, fail to stop at scene of accident, take motor vehicle without consent, 4 counts of driving while disqualified, and 2 counts of driving while under suspension. He is to appear in Provincial Court, Cayuga, ON at a later date to answer to the charges.
