Ever wonder why town staff don’t fix pot holes or cut down dangling shoes, quit maintaining Howson Dam, don’t clear obstructed stop signs, don’t repair sidewalks, don’t fill cracks in asphalt, take down garbage cans in the winter, ignore lead pipe in our water system, don’t clear the sidewalks after 9am, only plow the side-streets once a day, ignore roadkill and horse crap on our streets and sidewalks, ignore weeds and trees in sidewalks, don’t clear both pedestrian paths on Hanna Bridge, block all trail entrances with snow, dump snow on our sidewalks and then refuse to clear it for pedestrians, and even set up a Facebook Group to bash, bully and humiliate anyone that shines a light on the above issues by taking a moral stand for what they believe to be Right by speaking up? Yep, that’s what we get for the highest tax rate in Ontario.
North Huron senior management has no standards, literally, NO MINIMUM STANDARDS!

Hero Citizens have spoken out and the Ombudsman has been summoned by a hyper-informed Citizenry that has had years of access to agenda packages, photos of rotting infrastructure, and videos of council meetings.
Complaints to the Ombudsman have triggered their intervention which has shone a light on the complete and utter incompetence of North Huron’s senior management team. North Huron’s Public Works department, currently headed by kelly church, has no minimum standards. That’s why they don’t do anything, they literally don’t have to!
There is now zero doubt North Huron council has failed to uphold section 224 of the Municipal Act. If the horrid state of our town isn’t proof enough council has not held department heads to account, consider the following. They never question kelly church at council meetings, rubber stamp his budgets, give him raises every year and have let him operate with no minimum standards despite mass Public complaints and crumbling infrastructure.
At the 01Feb2016 North Huron council meeting they will be considering adopting “Minimum Standards”. I know 95% of you don’t believe this, so you better show up tonight at 7pm to see it live for yourself.
