Nathan WAYTOWICH – Stunt Driving

(ESPANOLA, ON)- On November 26, 2016, members from the Espanola Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint about a westbound passenger car being operated at a high rate of speed on Highway 17, in Nairn township.

At approximately 7:23 p.m., the westbound vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed and as a result was stopped for “Stunt Driving”.

The driver, Nathan WAYTOWICH, 33 years of age, from Sherwood Park, Alberta, was charged with:

Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive speed, contrary to section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

Speeding, contrary to section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act

The accused driver’s licence was suspended for seven days and the vehicle he was operating was impounded for seven days.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola, on January 12, 2017.

Every person convicted of Race a Motor Vehicle is liable to a fine of not less than $2,000 and not more than $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term of not more than six months, or to both, in addition to his or her driver’s licence being suspended.
