North Huron council removed Press and Public questions at council meetings. This was done with the promise of “Town Hall Style” meetings 1-4X a year. This was to allow the Press and Public to question Council in a Public Forum and to get answers regarding anything regarding the operation of the Municipality of North Huron.
Some on council are afraid of the Public “blindsiding” them with a “tough” question they are too afraid to answer honestly. Like, when will Edward and Centre Streets be fixed, or when will all the lead pipe be removed? The honest answer is “likely not in our lifetime, unless we make drastic changes”.
If the Reeve or anyone on council can be “blindsided” it proves they are not worthy of getting the $1000/month for two council meetings they currently get.
If you think it is time for council to come good on their word and hold a “Town Hall Style” meeting, contact your favorite council member and tell them it’s time to start moving forward and hold the first of these meetings.
