Fatal Pedestrian Collision

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – On Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at approximately 5:36 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment, Norfolk County Fire Department and Norfolk County Paramedic Services responded to a 9-1-1 emergency call for a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian at a Concession 10, Townsend, Norfolk County address.

It was determined that a motor vehicle was travelling westbound on Concession 10 of Townsend when the driver collided with a pedestrian on the side of the roadway. The pedestrian suffered serious life threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators along with members of the West Region Reconstruction Team attended and assisted with the investigation. The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Concession 10 of Townsend will be closed for the next five hours to allow for further investigation.
