Drug Bust – 5 Arrested

(IROQUOIS FALLS) – The Iroquois Falls Ontario Provincial Police have arrested and charged a 5 area persons with drug related charges based on their investigation which culminated with the execution of a search warrant in Iroquois Falls.

On November 21st, Ontario Provincial Police officers executed a search warrant at a Campion Street address.

As a result, a quantity of suspected marijuana and methamphetamine were located and seized.

The investigation has been completed and

– Albert DENAULT, 20, of Iroquois Falls

– Mary DENAULT, 52, of Iroquois Falls

– Jamie LAPOINTE, 23, of Timmins

– Edwin MCKNIGHT, 50, of Iroquois Falls

– Kayla THERIAULT, 19, of Matheson

have been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.

All except for LAPOINTE were released from police custody on a Promise to Appear requiring them to attend Provincial Court in Timmins on January 21st, 2014 to answer to the charges laid against them.

Additional charges of Breach of Probation and Fail to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking required a bail hearing for Jamie LAPOINTE.

He was subsequently released with a court date of December 10th, 2013.
