Delivery Driver Follows GPS In To Mud Hole

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – On Saturday, February 8, 2020, at approximately 3:47 p.m., the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment investigated a traffic complaint at a Windham Road 7, Windham, Norfolk County address.

It was determined that a delivery driver was in the process of delivering a package when the driver followed the directions from their Global Positioning System. The driver left the roadway and entered a farmer’s field at which time the vehicle became stuck in approximately 6 feet of mud. The vehicle was removed by a tow truck and the driver was subsequently charged.

Charged with fail to drive in marked lane contrary to Section 154 (1) (a) of the Highway Traffic Act is a 23-year-old driver from Hamilton, Ontario.

The driver was issued a Provincial Offences Notice.
