Dear Editor – Wingham Hospital & Christian Imagery

Hi there. Let me begin by saying that I love what you guys are doing; please continue to publicly call out all the losers who try to make life a bit more difficult for the residents of this area.

I’m not sure if you’ll be interested in this or not, but I figured I’d still pass it along. Earlier this morning, I had an appointment at the clinic in the rear of the Wingham hospital. I’ve been there several times before, but this was the first time I’ve noticed that there’s at least two Christian-themed portraits hanging on the walls. One is a B&W close-up of a baby’s hand inside an adult hand with a verse from Corinthians underneath, while the other is a painting of children dancing in the circle, with a verse above them involving something about being created in God’s image. Neither of these pictures are visible from the main waiting area, but are in clear view once you’re taken back into the offices. Considering that there’s also many, many pictures of little African kids everywhere, I’m guessing that at least one of the doctors practicing there does some missionary work; I have no problem with that, as long as their trips are purely medical based, and the free medicine doesn’t also come with a healthy helping of why our god is better than your god”.
