There is a Committee of the Whole (COW) meeting tonight at Town Hall
at 7pm. At these meetings, heads of departments usually show
up and give reports on the progress they have made in the last
month, if any. At tonight’s meeting Bernie Bailey is expected
to confront Mr. Campbell about the Rights of North Huron residents
to drop off tagged bags of garbage at the dump without paying an
extra fee. Mr. Bailey is now armed with data that proves that
other municipalities allow their residents to drop off tagged bags
without penalty, despite Mr. Campbell’s early assertions that this
wasn’t the policy of neighboring municipalities. Mr.
Campbell’s usual rebuttal is that it is a hassle for the dump
employees to allow people to place their tagged bags of garbage in
the big bin by the gate, and therefore there should be a $10 minimum
fee regardless if the bags are already tagged.
<span style=font-weight: bold;”>Trailer Park: Many people
have contacted WFP and posted in the comment section regarding the
fact that Council decided to sell off our trailer park without
informing or consulting the public about this decision.
Council Transparency:
Despite the fact Council has agreed to issue press releases
