(GEORGIAN BAY TOWNSHIP) – On Monday April 3, 2017 at approximately 5:02 p.m. members of the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with Georgian Bay Fire, County of Simcoe Paramedics responded to single motor vehicle collision on Hackett’s Drive in Georgian Bay Township, ON.
Upon speaking to the male driver at the scene, officers determined that he had been consuming alcohol and he was arrested for care or control while impaired. Further investigation also revealed that the male driver was prohibited from driving.
The male driver, David WHITCHER (age 64) of Georgian Bay Township, Ontario has been charged with:
Care or Control While Impaired contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
Care or Control with Over 80 mgs. of Alcohol contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
Driving While Disqualified contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
The accused has been held for a bail hearing in Barrie at a later date
