Clay ABBOTT – Drunk Driving

(COLLINGWOOD, ON.) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a male motorist with a drinking and driving offence after officers conducted a vehicle stop on Mountain Road.

On October 22 2016 shortly before midnight, OPP officers were conducting RIDE checks on Mountain Road when they observed a vehicle make a U-turn just prior to their location. OPP officers were able to locate and stop the vehicle a short time later where interactions with the driver found that he was under the influence of alcohol. The male motorist was subjected to a roadside breath test which resulted in a ‘fail’ reading and led to his arrest and transport to detachment for processing.

Charged is 53 year-old Clay ABBOTT of Collingwood, he is charged with driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on November 8 2016.
