Children Drug Traffickers Caught In Stolen Vehicle In Crediton

(SOUTH HURON, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers have laid charges against two Perth County teens in connection to events that took place on October 29, 2015. At approximately 8:18 a.m. Huron OPP officers spotted a stolen Ford pickup truck that was parked at the South Huron District High School. The pickup truck had been reported as stolen on October 28, 2015 from the town of Listowel.

Officers pulled into position behind the truck and activated their emergency lights in an effort to initiate a traffic stop however the driver immediately fled from the officer in the pickup. The driver proceeded through two stop signs on Gidley Street narrowly missing several vehicles and pedestrians. Officers did not give chase to the stolen vehicle however through further investigation they were able to identify both the driver and passenger in the pickup.

Later that afternoon just before 2:00 p.m. Huron OPP officers located both suspects in the town of Crediton. The suspects were found in another stolen vehicle. A Pontiac G6 that had also been stolen from Perth County earlier that morning. Both were taken into custody without incident. Upon searching the motor vehicle officers located a quantity of marihuana inside the vehicle.

As a result, Huron OPP has charged a 14-year-old female with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 (two counts) and one count of Possession of a Schedule II Substance (Marihuana) for the Purpose of Trafficking. She has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for December 3, 2015 at the Youth Justice Court in Goderich.

Huron OPP has also charged a 15-year-old male with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 (two counts), Possession of a Schedule II Substance (Marihuana) for the Purpose of Trafficking, Flight While Pursued by a Police Officer, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Drive Motor Vehicle – No Licence and Fail to Comply with a Probation Order (3 counts). He remains in custody with a bail hearing scheduled for November 3, 2015 at the Ontario Court of Justice.
