Occurrence Type: Update – Disturbance Leads to Stabbing

On Tuesday, December 6, 2016, just after 5:00 a.m. police received a call for disturbance at 186 Dunlop St. E. in the City of Barrie.

The reported disturbance resulted in a 26-year-old Barrie male being stabbed in the abdomen. Police arrested a 42-year-old Barrie male who was shortly located at 145 Dunlop Street East, after fleeing the scene.

Investigators have charged the 42-year-old male with; Attempt Murder,Aggravated Assault with a Weapon and three counts of Breech of Probation. The male appeared in bail court Tuesday afternoon and was remanded into custody.

The victim remains in stable condition at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.

On Tuesday, December 6, 2016, just after 5:00 a.m. police received a call for disturbance at 186 Dunlop St. E. in the City of Barrie.

Two males within the residence became involved in an altercation, which led to one male being stabbed. The suspect fled the residence and was observed by police running into 145 Dunlop Street,East. Once inside the suspect barricaded himself and three other people inside an upper unit apartment.

Police quickly contained the building and evacuated the two surrounding apartments. The suspect, a 42-year-old Barrie male, was taken into custody without incident and the three occupants were located without any physical injuries.

The victim, a 26-year-old Barrie male, was transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre with a stab wound to the abdominal area.
