(NORTH PERTH, ON) – On Thursday January 1, 2016, shortly after 7:30 pm, a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 23 north of Line 72 in the Municipality of North Perth. A driver operating a 2011 Chevrolet was observed at a speed well above the posted speed limit and was locked on radar at approximately 169 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
The 17-year-old driver from North Perth has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Stratford Court on January 24, 2017. His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
