Woman Escapes Captor In London – 19 Year Repeat Offender Arrested

UPDATE: On Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at approximately 11 pm, London Police responded to the area of Marconi Boulevard and Noel Avenue. Upon arrival, a woman reported she had been held against her will and threatened with a weapon.

She had managed to escape the residence and the suspect – who is known to the victim – had barricaded himself inside.

The situation was resolved peacefully at approximately 7:00am.

As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old man, who is not being named to protect the identity of the victim, is charged with the following Criminal Code of Canada offences:

Fail to Comply with Recognizance (five counts)

Assault with a weapon

Mischief Under $5000

Break Enter & Commit Assault

Forcible Confinement

Among the items seized from the residence were several replica firearms.

The accused will appear in court today in relation to the charges.

Barricaded Suspect in East End-Resolved

Police arrest one male

LONDON, ON (July 11, 2018) – On Tuesday July 10, 2018, at approximately 11:00pm, London Police responded to the area of Marconi Boulevard and Noel Avenue in relation to a barricaded suspect.

Due to the nature of the call, police resources including the Emergency Response Unit, K9, and negotiators attended the residence and as the situation unfolded police utilized distraction devices to assist in the arrest of the suspect.

The situation was resolved peacefully at approximately 7:00am.

A 19-year-old male from London is currently in police custody pending charges.

The residence is still being guarded by police due to the ongoing investigation.
