WFP’s most recent threats are in response Avner’s “Chief Wingham” caption contest. While some think it is hysterically funny, others find it extremely offensive. This led to several people posting vulgar and personal attacks on WFP’s facebook page. Those comments have been deleted, and posting privileges temporarily suspended. This is a policy that has been in place for years, and will not change.
The threat we received today implying that the Wingham police will stand down when the victim is a suspected WFP founder or supporter is hysterical, because they already do.
Wingham police have refused to act on threats toward WFP members. Tenants have trashed places, punched dozens of holes in walls, cut doors in half, stolen light fixtures and the Wingham police have refused to do anything. They claim since the tenant was renting the property, they technically owned it and therefore could do as they see fit, and taking them to court was the ONLY option. Recently an officer was caught on video stating they normally tell people tenants have more rights than property owners. This is false, and only believed because the police keep telling everyone that.
Many of you know everywhere else in Canada that is NOT how the law is applied. There have been numerous press releases from the OPP (the Real Police) regarding children or tenants being charged for damaging their home or rented property. The Wingham police simply refuse to help the victim, apparently depending on who they are.
The vast majority of crime is not reported in Wingham, not even home invasions. Senior citizens have found intruders in their home and scared them away. They claim they didn’t call the police because they wouldn’t do anything anyway, and they just would try to remember to keep their doors locked even when at home.
The threat that the Wingham police won’t be there when needed is not a threat, just a fact.
Now the threat that “your time is coming and keep the comments about the police and all the other crap you try to speak and it will come faster then your ready for”, is likely criminal in nature. History has proved there is zero point going to the Wingham police over this or any threat.
It is only in the one square mile of Wingham where the law does not apply, and one of the reasons the criminal element is thriving unchecked. For this we are forced to pay double the cost for police compared to the OPP.
Chief Poole still refuses to do his job and issue regular press releases and a daily “blotter”. He claimed at first he wasn’t doing it because he didn’t know how, and he was going to be taking a course. Poole did start a FaceBook page and posted a PR a month or so. Since the August Atrocities when the Wingham police arrested and evicted WFP’ers from a council meeting without cause, he has completely ceased informing the Public. The action of a petty and pathetic man.
WFP fully stands behind the “Chief Wingham” caption contest , and will not take it down due to the demands and threats we have received.
