South Huron Drunk Driver 3X Legal Limit

(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON) – On January 30, 2016, at approximately 4:49 p.m., the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police were alerted to a possible impaired driver.

The vehicle was reported eastbound on Egremont Drive, and subsequently involved in a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Nairn Road and Petty Street.

Officers determined the 52-year-old male driver had been drinking alcohol. He was arrested and transported to a Middlesex County OPP detachment for breath tests, which revealed he had consumed more than three times the legal limit.

As a result of the police investigation, Robert CIANCI, from South Huron, Ontario, has been charged with driving while ability impaired – motor vehicle (alcohol), driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood, and driving while disqualified – court order, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was further under the Highway Traffic Act (HTA) with driving while under suspension.

The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA), and is scheduled to answer the charges in a London court on March 1, 2016.
