Snowmobile Theft

(BRANT TWP, ON) – On January 3rd, 2012 at 8:43 am, the South Bruce OPP received a report on the overnight theft of 2 snowmobiles from a residence along Concession 2, Brant Township. Sometime between 10:00 pm on January 2nd, 2012 and 8:30 am on January 3rd, 2012, 2 snowmobiles were taken from the yard. The stolen snowmobiles are a Black 2004 Polaris S04 with Licence 924244 and a Black 2001 Polaris 600 with Licence 889522. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the South Bruce OPP or Crime Stoppers.

In light of the recent thefts, the South Bruce OPP would like to offer snowmobile owners the following tips:

Park your snowmobile in the garage or outbuilding

If parked outside, select well lit area and secure your snowmobile to a fixed object such as a large tree

Don’t leave the ignition key with the snowmobile, secure it inside the house or keep it in your pocket

Consider disabling your snowmobile when not in use. Remove the battery, distributor cap or other equipment that will make it difficult to start and steal your snowmobile
