Snow Squall Watch For Huron – Zero Visibility Possible

4:24 AM EST Monday 21 November 2016

Snow squall watch in effect for:

Goderich – Bluewater – Southern Huron County

Wingham – Blyth – Northern Huron County

Brief periods of reduced visibility in snow and blowing snow will be possible today.

Caution is advised on snow covered or icy roads.

All snow squall activity off the Great Lakes will weaken by Tuesday morning.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Snow squall watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the formation of bands of snow that could produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
