Smash And Grabs At The Bay Stores In Waterloo – Pursuit Called Off For Safety Reasons

On October 18, 2016, at 1:10 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police were called to Conestoga Mall in Waterloo for a report of a break and enter. Two men broke into The Bay store, smashed display cases and stole jewelry.

Shortly after, at 1:55 a.m., the same suspects broke into The Bay store at Fairway Park Mall and, again, smashed a display case and stole some watches.

Waterloo Regional Police were able to locate the suspects in their vehicle a short distance away.

However, the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed towards Highway 7/8. In the interest of public safety, the vehicle was not pursued. The suspects are described as white males. One was wearing a grey hoody, dark coat, white running shoes and gloves. He was carrying a pry bar. The second suspect was wearing a blue hoody, a dark balaclava that covered part of his face, khaki pants and dark shoes. He was carrying a hammer with a yellow handle.
