Repeat Offender Charged After Killing Dog And Stabbing Father

Halton Police have charged a 30 year old Halton Hills man with the attempted murder of his father.

On December 29th, 2017 at approximately 11:45 a.m. Halton Police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Halton Hills. Officers received initial information that a male had been stabbed at the location. On arrival officers located a male outside the home with a number of serious injuries, including stab wounds. A second male was located inside the home with a serious stab wound. A dog was also found inside the residence deceased. Both males were initially transported by ambulance to Hospital with life threatening injuries.

The One District Criminal Investigations Bureau continued the investigation and arrested the 30 year old Halton Hills male in connection with the incident. On January 2nd he was formally charged with attempt murder, uttering death threats, killing an animal and failing to comply with recognizance. He was remanded into custody and remains in hospital.

The name of the accused and location of the incident are not being released to protect the identity of the victim. The victim and accused are both are expected to survive.
