North Huron Management Scandal/Crisis Escalates – Public Works Director Resigns Amid Obstructed Stop Signs, Crumbling Streets And Dam, Etc

Anyone that has driven down Edward or Centre Streets, or around a collapsed storm drain, knows that the Public Works Directors have not been maintaining our roads for decades. Wingham is littered with “Wingham cobblestone”, small chunks of asphalt from our crumbling streets, great for souvenirs or playing street hockey. Sections of asphalt need replacing which will cost us millions, all because crack sealer is never used and potholes aren’t repaired properly.

Again this year there are more obstructed stop signs in North Huron, a clear and obvious sign no one is holding any Department Head to account. Our Community is literally crumbling around us, and there are no infrastructure reserves, so there is zero hope things will be fix if the status-quo is maintained.

A competent Public Works Director would be able to figure out how to clear our sidewalks and trails in the winter, or at least figure out what it currently costs us.
