Nicholas Carter – Drunk Driving – Mail Boxes – Baseball Bat

(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Thursday March 18, 2010, Perth County OPP officers were dispatched to Line 67 north of Milverton where youths in a small vehicle had been observed smashing mailboxes.

Officers located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle in Milverton. A baseball bat, liquor and five males who had been drinking were located inside the vehicle. The driver was given a roadside screening test which he failed resulting in his arrest and transport to the Perth County OPP Detachment in Sebringville where he registered over .80 mgs. on the Intoxilyzer. Nicholas Carter (18) of Perth East was charged with operating a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of blood alcohol content. He is scheduled to appear in Stratford court on May 3rd 2010 to answer to this charge. He was also served a 90 day drivers licence suspension.

The 4 youths in the vehicle were charged with liquor offences and are being diverted under the Youth Criminal Justice Act for charges of mischief.

Residents in and around Milverton who had their mailboxes damaged between Wednesday March 17 and Thursday March 18 are requested to contact the Perth County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
