Methamphetamine Bust – Two Charged

(IGNACE, ON) – On November 30, 2016 at approximately 8:52 p.m. Ignace Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were called to investigate a traffic collision that occurred on Highway 17, McNevin Township which is approximately 40 km East of Ignace.

As a result of that investigation the following people have been charged with the following offences:

Virginia DENNING, 33 years old of Prince George, BC

1. Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

2. Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – over 30 grams contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

3. Possession of a Schedule III Substance contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

4. Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis resin over 1 gram contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

5. Obstruct Peace Officer contrary to Section 129(a) of the Criminal Code.

6. Fail to Comply with Probation Order contrary to Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code.

Jesse MACDONALD, 29 year old male of Williams Lake, BC

1. Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

2. Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana – over 30 grams contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

3. Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis resin – over 1 gram contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

4. Possession of a Schedule III Substance contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act.

Both DENNING and MACDONALD have been released from custody and will appear in court on February 1, 2017 to answer to the charges.
