Many of you have probably already heard the rumours around town that council wants to eliminate virtually all town staff and outsource the work to private companies. Council long ago gave up trying to hold department heads to account, the horrific state of our infrastructure is indisputable proof. These council cowards refuse to confront department heads so they hold secret meetings away from the Public and make decisions that will potentially send hundreds of paycheques out of the area.

Below is proof the rumours are not unfounded, and council is already moving forward.

On 04Jan2016 North Huron had a council meeting which ended with Reeve Neil Vincent saying “The next regular meeting of council will be Monday January 18 2016.” Link to video quote on YouTube: https://youtu.be/Q2EIoJRxg9M?t=1h29m15s

05Jan2016 at 6:00pm North Huron council held a secret meeting at Wingham Town Hall. The Public and Press were not allowed to attend this meeting. No part of this meeting was broadcast or posted on YouTube. No press release was issued.

At 6:24 trevor seip moved to go “in camera”, which means they close/lock the doors and turn off all video cameras. Extremely misleading, and purposely so.

At 9:04 J.Campbell moved “The Council of North Huron agree to proceed to the Regular Council meeting”

Shortly after that they passed the following:

THAT:

The Council of the Township of North Huron hereby directs the CAO to investigate a contract with Veolia Water Canada for the delivery of operation, maintenance and management for North Huron water works and sewage works.
