Hwy 86 Collision Update – One Extricated And Airlifted – Two Children Sent To Hospital

(NORTH PERTH, ON) –Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is currently investigating a motor vehicle collision on Perth Line 86 in the Municipality of North Perth.

On Friday January 6, 2017 at approximately 1:00 p.m. a collision occurred between a sport utility vehicle (SUV) and a minivan on Line 86.

The driver of the minivan, a 39 year old from Waterloo Region, was extricated from the vehicle and transported, by air ambulance, to London area hospital in serious but stable condition. There were also two young passengers in the minivan, ages 8 and 10. One has been transported by ambulance to a London area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and one was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the SUV, a 26 year-old from Tiny Township, was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. This driver was treated and released.

Perth Line 86 remains closed between Road 140 and Road 147. It is expected to remain closed until approximately 6:00 p.m. for investigation and vehicle removal.

Please take alternate routes to avoid delays.

The investigation is continuing.
