Hanover Police Arrest Robert Richard St Jean for Escaping Custody and Methamphetamine Trafficking

On November llth 2Ot4 at 8:20am an off duty Hanover Police Service officer observed a male suspect wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant just south of the Town of Hanover. Hanover Police responded to the scene and while attempting to make the arrest the suspect fled on foot. After a brief foot pursuit and struggle with officers the suspect was arrested. A search revealed the suspect had in his possession a quantity of methamphetamine that was individually packaged.

The Hanover Police Service has charged Robert Richard St Jean, age 28 of Chesley, Ontario with escaping lawful custody, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cannabis marihuana, possession of cannabis resin and two counts of failing to comply with a probation order. He was remanded into custody for a bail hearing.

The arrest of this suspect was unrelated to the search warrant and arrests of suspects from
November 10th 2014.

The Hanover Police Service continues to encourage members of the public to call the Police or Crime Stoppers if they have any information on anyone that is involved in the trafficking of illicit drugs.
