Drug arrest
In August of 2018, the Guelph Police Drug Unit began an investigation into the trafficking of fentanyl. Over the course of two days, the male was observed meeting various individuals in a manner consistent with drug transactions.
On August 31, 2018, at approximately 1:50 p.m., a male was arrested for Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Controlled Substance. Search incident to arrest and Police located what was believed to be Fentanyl and Methamphetamine. Police also located over $3300 in cash.
Kyle BENOIT, a 26 year old Guelph male was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Controlled Substance, breaching his Probation Order and well as breaching an OIC Undertaking. BENOIT appeared in court on September 1, 2018.
Transportation Fraud arrest
On August 31, 2018, Guelph Police were called for a male taking a cab throughout the city who was unable to pay for it. Through investigation, it was learned that the male was also wanted.
As a result, Nathan CROCKER a 26 year old Guelph male was arrested for Transportation Fraud, Breaching an OIC Undertaking, as well as Fail to Appear in Court. CROCKER appeared in court on September 1, 2018.
Theft of Motor Vehicle arrest
On August 27, 2018, Guelph Police began an investigation into a theft of an E-Bike in the area of Stone Road and Janefield Avenue. As a result, a female party was wanted for the theft of the E-Bike.
On September 2, 2018, Tessera REYES, a 33 Guelph female was arrested for Theft of a Motor Vehicle. REYES is scheduled to appear in court on October 19, 2018.
Drive Disqualified arrest
On September 2, 2018, at approximately 3:02 a.m., Guelph Police stopped a vehicle in the area of Victoria Road and Tobey Avenue. The driver was identified and it was learned that he was suspended driving a motor vehicle for life.
As a result, Christopher BRADSHAW, a 29 year old Guelph male was charged with Drive while Disqualified. BRADSHAW is scheduled to appear in court on October 30, 2018.
Stolen Property arrest
On August 26, 2018, Guelph Police arrested a male in connection with a bench warrant. Search incident to arrest and the male was found to be in possession of a debit card and credit card that did not belong to him. The cards were not reported stolen at the time, but through investigation, it was revealed that in fact they were stolen.
On September 2, 2018, the male was arrested for two counts of Possession of Stolen Property Under $5000 as well as two counts of Unauthorized Possession of a Credit Card. Search incident to arrest, and the male was found to be in possession of stolen property and identification documents that were not his.
Brandon McBAIN, a 27 year old Guelph male is scheduled to appear in court on October 12, 2018.
Impaired arrest
On September 2, 2018, at approximately 10:10 p.m., Guelph Police received a call from an alert citizen about a possible impaired driver in the area of Silvercreek Parkway North. Police located the vehicle in the area of Duke Street and spoke with the driver.
As a result, a male was arrested for Impaired Driving. The male was also charged with Over 80. John JOHNSTON, a 61 year old Guelph male is scheduled to appear in court on September 18, 2018.
Public’s assistance required
On September 3, 2018, at approximately 11:00 p.m., a female was sitting on a bench on the south side of the Speed River at Wellington Street and west of Edinburgh Road. The female was approached by an unknown male whom identified himself to her as “Tim”, 22 years of age from Kitchener. This male sat down beside the female and engaged her in conversation. The male then proceeded to mace the female and steal her purse. While attempting to stop the robbery, the male sprayed the female a second time. The female received medical attention from this incident.
The male was described as a white male, young looking, wearing a white tank top and had a bright light on his bike. The male was last seen heading westbound along the trail.

From Friday, August 31, 2018 at 6:00 a.m., until Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at 6:00 a.m., Guelph Police dealt with 844 calls for service.
