(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Tuesday April 6th, 2010 shortly after 5 p.m., Perth County OPP officers were called to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Perth Line 37 and Road 111.
Investigation revealed that a northbound grey mini van on Road 111 crossed Perth Line 37 directly in front of a black coloured sports utility vehicle. The front of the SUV struck the passenger side of the mini van.
As a result of the collision, the passenger of the mini van, Emily Anwender (80) of the Township of Perth East was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the mini van Gertrude Langer (81) of Orangeville was airlifted to London’s Victoria Hospital, she is in critical condition. The SUV driver, a 59 year old female from Stratford was transported to Stratford General Hospital with minor injuries.
The intersection remained closed until 9:50 p.m. to assist in the safe removal of the two wreckages and to allow the Western Region OPP Technical Traffic Investigation Unit to continue their investigation into the cause of the collision.
