Driver Gets 3 Day Suspension and Vehicle Impoundment

(BLUEWATER, ON) – A 39 year old male will be without driving privileges for three days this week following a traffic stop on June 22, 2014. At 3:15 a.m., Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a complaint of a red SUV that was heading northbound on Bluewater Veteran’s Highway. The witness observed the driver of the Ford SUV travelling in and out of the marked lane of travel. Officers located and stopped the suspect vehicle on Bluewater Veteran’s Highway near Telephone Road.

Upon speaking with the driver the officer detected the driver had been drinking alcohol. This resulted in a roadside test being administered. The driver failed the roadside test and was transported to the Forest OPP Detachment for breath tests.

He later provided samples of his breath to the Intoxilizer Technician and his readings now registered in the warn range. As a result, a 39 year old male driver from Chatham was served with a three day driver’s license suspension. Additionally, his motor vehicle has been impounded for three days.
