We have received several reports of scam artists calling area homes. If someone calls your home and asks how your computer is doing, it is likely a scam. They just want access to your computer, which would allow them to access your personal data.
Various tricks have been used to gain the confidence of potential victims, the main one is saying they are form Microsoft.
Never give out personal information, or access to your computer, to strangers that call your home. If you have a problem with your computer, be safe and take it to a local computer store for servicing. Don’t become an Identity Theft Victim.
