Adrien WARREN – Over 80, Hit And Run

(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On Friday March 24th, 2017, at approximately 8:40pm officers from the Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol when they observed a motor vehicle being driven in an erratic manner.

Officers stopped the motor vehicle in the parking lot of Wal Mart on 2nd Dug Hill Road. During the course of the investigation it appeared that the driver’s ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. Also during the investigation officers noted front end damage to the vehicle and information was given that a vehicle matching the description was involved in a fail to remain collision.

Adrien WARREN, 19, of Belleville has been charged with:

Care or Control While Impaired (Alcohol), Section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

Care and Control Over 80mgs, Section 253(1)(b) of the Criminal Code

Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle, Section 249(1)(a) of the Criminal Code

Fail to Stop at Scene of Accident, Section 252(1.1) of the Criminal Code

Novice driver – B.A.C. above zero Section 44.1(3) of the Highway Traffic Act

The female was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice Belleville on April 6th, 2017.

No injuries resulted from the collision.
