82 Year Old Has Unattended Mower And Equipment Stolen While Dumping Lawn Clippings

(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is seeking the public’s assistance in the return of lawn maintenance equipment to the lawful owner. Police suspect that the equipment may have been picked inadvertently by an unsuspecting person who thought it was left at the roadside free for the taking.

On October 4, 2016, the victim, an 82-year old Meaford man, had completed doing lawn maintenance at a residence on Sykes Street North, across from the Dairy Queen, in Meaford. He had left his equipment on the sidewalk in front of the residence while he left to unload the grass clippings. When he returned a short time later, his equipment was gone. The missing equipment was described as follows:

– self-propelled Honda lawnmower

– red coloured, Toro light duty gas trimmer

– orange coloured leaf blower

– 2 red gas cans (2L and 4L)

– yellow battery booster cables.

Anyone with information as to the whereabouts of this equipment is asked to call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
