Shortly before 7:00pm an elderly couple were attending Tein Bo Restaurant located at 775 9th Avenue East for dinner. The 71 year old female attempted to park her Mazda van in front of the business but was unable to bring the vehicle to a stop until it had smashed through the front window of the business. A customer who was seated eating her dinner narrowly escaped serious injury when she quickly jumped out of the way. The restaurant patron received minor injuries from flying glass but was treated and released on scene.
An estimate of damage to the business has not been provided but could be several thousand dollars.
The driver of the motor vehicle and her passenger were not injured.
The Owen Sound Police are continuing to investigate but charges are not expected.
