(Central Huron, ON) On July 18, 2009 at approximately 9:30 pm a Huron OPP officer stopped a vehicle on Huron Road that was seen swerving within its’ lane. Officers spoke to the 69 year old female driver and detected the odour of alcohol coming from her breath so a demand was read that she provide a roadside sample of her breath. The woman complied and the result was a Warn.
The result of the traffic stop was that the London woman had her driver’s licence suspended for three days. Her completely sober passenger then drove the vehicle after the traffic stop.
The Huron OPP urges people to make the smart decision ahead of time. If someone has been drinking and someone has not, it is probably much better for the sober licenced driver to take the wheel than to risk losing driving privileges for three days.
