An Owen Sound man is in custody awaiting a remand hearing after being charged with multiple offences this date.
The suspect had been consuming alcohol last evening with an acquaintance in a downtown apartment when he attacked his host for no apparent reason. The victim received several bruises and swelling as well as a slice across his hand from a knife causing excessive bleeding.
The suspect then proceeded to smash an electronic device belonging to the victim before leaving the scene.
The suspect then attended to an ex partner’s west side residence and continued to consume alcohol. An argument ensued and the suspect proceeded to cause extensive damage to the interior of the residence, smashing holes in several areas of drywall before wearing out his welcome there.
The victim was transported to hospital by ambulance and received treatment for non-life threatening injuries. The victim will require surgery to repair damage caused by the knife injury.
The 21 year old suspect is charged with assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, two counts of mischief to property, three counts of failing to comply with probation and possession of marihuana.
