Will Closing Blyth Public School Increase Wingham Taxes?

As North Huron Council’s reputation lays tarnished by the abusive
acts of Deputy Mayor David Riach, one Councillor continues to rise
above the low bar set by his fellow Councillors.  Councillor
Brock Vodden has been trying to save the public school in his ward
of Blyth.  As it currently stands, the Blyth public school will
be closed, and the new super school will be built in Wingham.
Mr. Vodden continues to fight for his constituents and their school
with all the determination of a hungry pitbull.  Virtually
every week Brock Vodden writes a letter to the conventional papers
in an attempt to raise awareness and support regarding the Blyth
school situation.

Several citizens from Blyth have expressed concerns about the future
of their village, from the decreased property values to the
effect on downtown businesses.  Property values are expected to
drop anywhere from 10-30% in Blyth as a result of the school
closure.  Many families choosing to move to North Huron, will
not consider Blyth if there is no local school.  This decreases
demand for Blyth properties, driving the prices down further in this
depressed real estate market.
